Book Haul - July/August 2016

Thursday, August 11, 2016

I thought the best place to start with my first post on this blog would be a haul to round up all of the books I've picked up recently.

Where to start with this one... There are quite a few well-known books that have been on my TBR list for a while but for some reason, I just haven't bought them until now. These books were not all purchased in one go but I have picked them up over the past couple of months.
After You by Jojo Moyes: I read Me Before You at the beginning of the year but I'm yet to read the sequel. Me Before You is one of my favourite books I've read this year so I'm excited to read this.
The Girl On The Train by Paula Hawkins: I can't believe I've waited this long to pick this book up. It has been highly raved about but yet I'm still to read it. I hope to finally read it in the next couple of weeks.
Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon: This one had some great reviews, I've now read this book so I don't want to say too much but expect a review soon.
The Ice Twins by S.K. Tremayne: I have heard a few booktubers mention this one so I thought I'd pick it up as a change from all of the contemporary books I've been reading recently. I'm looking forward to reading it.
We Were Liars by E. Lockhart: There was a lot of hype surrounding this book. Again, I don't want to give too much away but I've just finished this book and loved it! Review coming soon.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time by Mark Haddon: Another book I had been meaning to pick up for a while. I thought the concept of this book (written from the perspective of a boy with Asperger's) was interesting. I have read this since I picked it up and all I will say for now is it is unlike anything I have read before. Review coming soon.
All The Bright Places by Jennifer Niven: There has also been a lot of hype surrounding this so when I was in Waterstones I decided to pick it up. I've now read this and I did like it but I think I was expecting more from it.
The Tea Planter's Wife by Dinah Jefferies: I had heard a few good things about this book so when I placed an order on Amazon I thought I'd pick it up. I'm looking forward to reading this one.
The Book Theif by Markus Zusak: I normally always read a book before watching the film adaptation, however, this one I've ended up doing the other way. I watched the film a while back and enjoyed it so I knew I had to read the book. I finally picked it up and can't wait to read it.
Harry Potter and the Cursed Child by J. K.Rowling, John Tiffany & Jack Thorne: I have always been a huge Harry Potter fan, although I'm still not sure how I feel about this one. I was almost scared to read it because I loved the original books so much that I feel like I had very high expectations of this. I have started reading it. I'm about half way through but I will reserve judgement until I have finished. Expect a review soon.
Have you read any of these books? What did you think?
